چکیده

The small intestine is the largest component of the digestive tract and the major site of digestion and absorption. Aluminium compounds are used in pharmaceuticals and in water treatment processes. The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the possible effects that aluminium chloride exposure could have on the histology of the small intestine of wistar rats. The wistar rats were divided into five groups as follows: Group I was the control that received distil water only while Groups II-V were given various concentrations of aluminium chloride via oral intubation for period of eight weeks. The wistar rats were humanely sacrificed, the small intestine removed, fixed, processed and stained in haematoxylin and eosin (H&E).The slides were viewed under the light microscope fitted to a digital camera. Based on our observations, we therefore conclude that aluminium chloride exposure had negative and deleterious effects on the histology of small intestine of wistar rats as eminent in mucosa degeneration.

Objective Reproductive toxicity is a major challenge associated with aluminum (Al) exposure. No studies have evaluated the possible effects of curcumin (CUR) on Al-induced reproductive dysfunction. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of CUR treatment on Al-induced reproductive damage. The Effect of Cadmium on Apoptotic Genes mRNA Expression of Bax and Bcl-2 in Small Intestine of Rats

Background: Cadmium is a potent toxicant and carcinogenic in human and experimental animals. The evidence indicates that cadmium induces aberrant gene expression, inhibition of DNA damage repair, and apoptosis. In this study, we investigated the effects of IP (intraperitoneal) injection of cadmium on mRNA levels expression of Bcl-2 and Bax genes in rat small intestine. <s...

Effects of Oral Administration of Aluminium Chloride on the Histology of the Hippocampus of Wistar Rats

The study of the effects of oral administration of aluminium chloride on the Hippocampus of wistar rats was designed in order to ascertain whether the small daily amount of aluminium that gain access to the body produce any damage to the hippocampus. This investigation was carried out using 50 female adult wistar rats. The animals were divided into five groups; 10 rats per group (cage). Stock so...
